(Rui) Calotropis gigantea
A common toxic species of the Konkan tract. All parts of the plant are toxic. It contains toxic principles such as Calotroxin, Calactin, Uscharin, Gigantin. The toxic symptoms are Cutenous and mucosal irritation, Acute Gastroenteritis, Abortions in pregnant females and Cardiotoxicity.

Goodness me....I have known Crown flower all my life, but I was blissfully unaware of its toxic characteristics! Thank you for all the info coupled with a pretty image!
